A personal approach to patient care is as vital to the cardiac surgery staff as is the quality of medical care provided. At Tufts Medical Center, the attending surgeons personally participate in every aspect of patient care.
To keep referring physicians involved in decision-making for their patients, our staff communicates with referring doctors after catheterization, with the results of surgery, for a discussion of major complications that develop during the hospital stay and for advice in coordinating discharge planning. Referring doctors are notified at the time of hospital discharge with a phone call and a preliminary discharge summary.
We are dedicated to creating and maintaining lasting relationships with our referring physicians. If you wish to refer a patient, please call one of our experts in this specialty directly.
If you need assistance in making the appropriate referral, please call Frederick Chen, Chief, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at 617-636-5590.
Faxes should be sent to 617-636-6410.
