Cardiology

Top care with a personal touch for patients with advanced heart disease

Dealing with a serious heart condition can be highly stressful for both you and your entire family. At Tufts Medical Center’s Cardiology Division in downtown Boston, you can expect the best cardiac care available in a welcoming, supportive environment.

You and your Cardiology health care providers will work as a team to determine the best course of treatment for you. We will also involve your family in the decision making as well, from pre-operation to recovery afterwards. We will provide continual support throughout the process, from ensuring emotional well-being to answering any questions you might have. Our goal is not just to save lives, but to maintain and improve the quality of life for our patients. We never forget that you as the patient are the center of everything we do.

Access to the best

While you are in our care, you will have access to some of the best cardiologists in the country. All of our subspecialty areas within Cardiology have nationally known top physicians directing the programs. Three of our doctors have been presidents of their national professional societies, the Heart Failure Society of America, the Heart Rhythm Society and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Our cardiology doctors are skilled at working collaboratively to come up with the best heart disease treatments for you. Cardiology is part of the highly respected CardioVascular Center, which brings together under one roof all the different subspecialists in cardiovascular care, from cardiac surgeons to preventive cardiology experts.

You will also have access to some of the newest and most promising treatments for cardiovascular disease. Our doctors are involved in a number of ongoing clinical trials, including exploring new ways to fix holes in the heart and new pacemaker technologies.

Getting Started

Our physicians are always accepting new patients. We always find a way to accommodate new patients, with an appointment very quickly if the need is urgent.

We work closely with your home doctor and referring physician throughout the process, keeping them informed on decisions and treatment options. Our goal is to return our cardiac patients as quickly as possible to the care of the doctors and hospitals in their communities. Upon discharge, we will set up appointments for follow-up with your home physicians, and they will receive the exact same medication list prescribed to you.
