Some dermatologic conditions go beyond just the skin. For patients with psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, hidradenitis suppurativa, pyoderma gangrenosum, sarcoidosis and other systemic conditions, your physician may recommend intravenous (IV) infusions of certain medications, including infliximab (Remicade). Additionally, for those patients with severe asthma and chronic urticaria we can also provide injections for omalizumab (Xolair).
The Dermatology Infusion Center at Tufts MC is one of just a few infusion centers in the country located within a dermatology office. That means you’ll get all of the benefits of an academic medical center and the targeted expertise of dermatologists skilled in the treatment of systemic skin conditions.
The first time you receive an infusion, you may feel worried and unsure of what to expect. At the Dermatology Infusion Center, you can rest assured that you’re in the best hands. You’ll always meet with a physician before your appointment, and one of our highly skilled nurses will oversee the infusion process from beginning to end.
The infusions involve the most sophisticated equipment available, and your visit will take place in a proper clinical setting and with the expertise of a full hospital nearby. With years of experience performing these infusions, you can rest assured that we are prepared for any medical concerns.
Finally, our center is staffed by warm, caring clinicians and reserved for dermatologic patients only, so you can feel confident that we’ll always put your health first.
