A diagnosis of skin cancer can be frightening, but its treatment doesn’t have to be. At Tufts Medical Center’s Skin Cancer Treatment program, our physicians offer a range of surgical, minimally invasive and non-invasive therapeutic options for a range of skin cancers including:
We work together with a multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical oncologists, radiation therapists, otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons and pathologists to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your individual needs.
Our expert physicians are skilled in both surgical and non-invasive treatment of skin cancer. In our Dermatologic Surgery Clinic, we surgically remove some cancers using a variety of procedures, including cryotherapy, electrosurgery and Mohs surgery.
Tufts Medical Center is the only cancer center in the Northeast—and one of just four in the United States—that offers Mohs surgery for malignant melanomas arising on cosmetically and functionally critical anatomic sites. This technique allows us to spare tissue without sacrificing cure rates, so you can feel confident that your skin is receiving the best possible care. Depending on your individual case, we may recommend topical chemotherapy, which uses creams, lotions and wraps to successfully treat precancerous lesions, as well as early skin cancers.
