Ear + Balance Center - Neurotology/Otology

Ready with solutions for your hearing and balance issues

If you are having problems hearing or staying steady on your feet, the New England Ear and Balance Center at Tufts Medical Center can help. Our center offers the latest surgical techniques and treatments, with the skills and expertise to tackle complex medical conditions. We draw upon the full range of expertise only found at a major academic medical center, and here, you won’t get lost in the institutional shuffle. We are just right size for providing the kind of personal and highly attentive care all patients deserve.

What you can expect

We welcome new patients to our Boston office and can get you in to see us within a week or two. You can come on your own or get a referral from your local practitioner. We use the latest technology to thoroughly evaluate your hearing and the physiology of your ear. We work from there to develop a plan for treatment and if needed, surgery.

What we offer

We routinely deal with patients with general hearing and balance problems, including vertigo and other conditions. But we also have the expertise, technology and equipment to tackle the most challenging problems as well, including:

  • removing tumors in the ear and on the base of the skull;
  • implanting bone-anchored hearing aids;
  • treating facial nerve problems, including facial paralysis;
  • Highly sensitive surgery to correct hearing issues, including acoustic neuroma, a benign growth along a nerve leading from the brain to the ear canal.
