The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Tufts Medical Center provides patients with outpatient diagnostic tests that may assist in the diagnosis of a wide range of endocrine conditions, such as Cushing’s syndrome, Addison’s disease, acromegaly, diabetes, impaired glucose tolerance and reactive hypoglycemia. As experts in the field of endocrinology, your care team will provide you with reliable interpretation of your results.
The doctors and nurses in the Division use standardized protocols to give an injection or oral drink and then measure your hormonal and physical response. Endocrine tests offered include:

To prepare for the test, we may ask you to fast overnight or refrain from certain medications the day before. Please talk to your doctor about the preparation needed for the specific test that we will be performing.
