John Leung, MD Laboratory

John Leung, MD is an allergist at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. One of the objectives of the laboratory of John Leung, MD at Tufts Medical Center is to find relief for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a chronic disease of the esophagus that often manifests as swallowing difficulty, food impaction, and pain. My team collaborates with other EoE researchers in US and around the world to (1) develop non-invasive biomarkers to monitor disease activity, and (2) study efficacy of different pharmacological and dietary interventions.

Dr. Leung's team also studies the natural history of food allergy, diagnostic performance of various food allergy tests and clinical outcome of supervised oral challenge. The role of food allergy and sensitivity in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome are also under active investigation in our laboratory.
