Department of Medicine

Overview

The Department of Medicine at Tufts Medical Center offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services for adults. Our physicians are dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care to all of our patients.

We are also committed to creating lasting relationships with our referring physicians. We work in true partnership with these community physicians because it benefits everyone - most importantly the patient.

Our clinical strength is enhanced by our Department's commitment to research and training. We are on the forefront of the latest research advances, with 90% of our research revenues originating from the federal government or foundations. We train residents and fellows who go on to become leaders in the field of medicine. The Internal Medicine Residency trainees rotate throughout the Divisions on a regular basis and are encouraged to participate in extra clinical sessions in the fields that interest them the most. A number of our Divisions also have extremely competitive fellowship programs that provide advanced subspecialty training.

The Department of Medicine is divided into twelve clinical subspecialty divisions, one general internal medicine division and three research institutes, which are listed below:
