Center for Polycystic Kidney Disease

Helping you take control of your polycystic kidney disease

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a complex condition that can impact your health in many ways. To manage PKD properly, you need more than a specialist; you need a team of doctors working together to give you the individualized care it takes to manage your symptoms and take control of your health.

At the Center for Polycystic Kidney Disease at Tufts Medical Center, our goal is to give patients a lifetime of individualized care. Our team treats patients with both autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and the less common autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD).

Most importantly, we understand what it's like to live with PKD. We're here to address all of your needs, from pain management and genetic counseling to providing access to promising new drug therapies. Dr. Perrone and his team have extensive experience in the use of tolvaptan, both in clinical trials and as a prescription drug and can determine whether this medication is an option for you.

Unique support for new patients

If you've been newly diagnosed with PKD, you have a lot to think about. Even if PKD runs in your family, the diagnosis can be concerning. That's why we set aside time each week just to meet with new patients.

During your first appointment at the Center, we sit down with you to discuss your personal health history and answer your questions. Then we work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs.
