The Division of Nephrology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with all aspects of chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension and kidney dialysis treatment. The following patient resources will assist you in scheduling your appointment and learning more about the nephrology services we offer.

Patient Emergencies

For patient emergencies after 5 p.m., call 617-636-5114 and ask the operator to page the nephrology fellow on call.

Outpatient Appointments

To make an outpatient appointment, call 617-636-5866. All outpatient appointments are located at 35 Kneeland Street, Boston, MA 02111 – on the fourth floor.

Internet Resources

Kidney School  - Kidney School is a web site from the Life Options Rehabilitation Program.  This site contains modules that take no more than 20 minutes to complete.  Each module is interactive and educates patients and clinicians about kidney disease and its treatment.

Kidney Biopsy: Patient Information from Up-to-Date - This web site includes information about the reasons to have a kidney biopsy, the procedure, and potential complications.  Up-to-Date is a well-respected resource for patients and clinicians. 

Kidney Failure Treatment Choices from National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse - This resource is provided by the National Institutes of Health and describes the treatment options for kidney failure including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation.  At the end of this site, there is a list of resources provided for additional information.

Home Dialysis Central - This is a non-profit educational web site about home dialysis.  It provides general information, as well as home dialysis units, and resources for patients and clinicians.
