The Division of Clinical Nutrition provides evaluation and management of patients with nutritional disorders, including specialized programs for malabsorption and intestinal failure, underweight and failure to thrive, protein energy malnutrition and obesity.
Our doctors provide both inpatient and outpatient services, including specialized procedures such as measurement of resting energy expenditure (metabolic rate) and body composition. For patients who require home nutrition support, the division facilitates the transition from hospital to home.
The Division is affiliated with The Frances Stern Nutrition Center, which was established in 1918 and continues to provide outpatient and inpatient nutrition services by registered dietitians at Tufts Medical Center. The Frances Stern Center was the first organization of its kind in the world and also serves as one of the oldest and most distinguished dietetic internship-master’s degree programs in the country.
