Learning that you have cancer can be confusing, overwhelming and stressful. The last thing you want to worry about is your health care. The Gynecologic Oncology Program at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston helps ease this anxiety by providing compassionate, knowledgeable care for women with malignancies of the ovary, fallopian tube, peritoneum, uterus, cervix, vulva and vagina.
We’re with you every step of the way, from diagnosis, to surgical approaches, to medical treatment that includes on-site chemotherapy. And our expertise in sophisticated techniques—such as robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy —means that our patients receive the latest and most effective treatment whenever possible.
When you visit the Gynecologic Oncology program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, you’re in good hands. As Chair of the robotics committee at Tufts Medical Center and member of several organizations dedicated to reviewing clinical trials and standardizing treatment, Dr. Kim is on the leading edge of cancer treatment.
But optimal care isn’t just about surgical and medical expertise — it’s about feeling like a person, not just another patient. That’s why our gynecologic oncology staff works closely with a multidisciplinary group of doctors and nurses to create a treatment plan that’s personalized to your unique needs. We also team with staff in Stoneham, Lowell and Portsmouth, so you may not even need to travel to Boston to receive treatment.
We’re skilled in the latest minimally invasive approaches such as laparoscopic surgery and robotic-assisted surgery. These techniques allow us to surgically treat cancers with more precision.
What does that mean for you? Reduced pain, less time spent in the hospital and a quicker recovery from surgery. And because our growing robotics program is one of the most active at Tufts Medical Center, you can feel confident that our staff has the experience necessary to create successful outcomes.
Research doesn’t just benefit future patients. It can give you access to some of the most advanced therapies right now. For more than 20 years, the Gynecologic Oncology program has been a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group. This national program sponsors clinical trials that offer patients the latest innovations in surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and other treatment options before they become widely available elsewhere. Our patients also have access to clinical trials of novel therapies offered only at Tufts Medical Center’s Cancer Center.
