Gynecology isn’t just for adult women. Sometimes, girls and teens need specialized OB/GYN care, too. At the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, our team of top doctors provides care to children and adolescents—from birth to age 24—with a wide variety of gynecologic issues.
We understand the unique needs of our younger female patients and their families, and strive to make every visit as comfortable as possible. And because we are the only program of our kind in the Boston area that continues to provide care for adult women, you can be sure that your child will receive the highest quality care available that can continue for her lifetime.
Girls and teens aren’t small women. Our pediatric and adolescent patients have very different gynecological concerns—and those issues require special skills and knowledge. Our team of top doctors evaluate and treat a range of issues, including:
We also provide routine gynecological screenings, prenatal care, contraception for medically ill patients and preventive counseling for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases—all delivered with a compassionate, gentle approach that puts children first.
As the only program in the New England area that provides gynecological care to girls and women throughout their lives, the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program at Tufts Medical Center is a top destination in the Northeast for many young patients and their parents. Whether you come to us as the result of a referral or seek us out on your own, we will work with your primary care doctor to ensure exceptional, seamless care for as long as you or your child sees us.
Our team of experienced doctors has made it our mission to improve health for women of all ages, and for young patients in particular. Led by Andrea Zuckerman, MD—named in Best of Boston since 2006 and Best Doctors since 2003—we have spent a combined four decades working in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. This depth of experience allows us to understand the needs of children and teens, whether that means calming their fears about an exam or counseling them about lifelong healthy choices.
