Vacations

  • Four weeks per year
  • Three personal days per year
  • Residents accrue 1 sick day per month

6-WELL- Resident Wellness Line

  • Facilitating medical appointments for residents and fellows
  • Responses within 48 hours (residents can typically be seen within a week for non urgent appointments)
  • Dental appointments can be reached at dental.tufts.edu/
  • Wellness support services and employee assistance program available 

Educational Leave

  • Residents are given leave to attend a conference where they are presenting a publication. They can also apply to receive funds for cost of attendance. This funding is available YEARLY at $1500. Residents are responsible for any amount over $1500. Residents are encouraged to seek scholarships if available from the conference they plan on attending.
  • Admin Chief Residents and Education Chief Resident are given one additional week for education leave plus funds (also $1500) to defray the cost of attending meeting/conference. 
     

Resident Retreat

  • Resident retreats occurs each academic year and all residents are excused from their clinical responsibilities for a full 24 hours.
  • All retreats include a morning didactic session, usually dedicated to hands-on learning and in-service training on a variety of topics.
  • The afternoon is dedicated to team building exercises. In the past, retreats have included rock climbing, cooking classes and a spa day.
