The New England Eye Center/Department of Ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine offer a three-year residency in Ophthalmology, fellowships in subspecialty areas and a range of continuing medical education courses.

Continuing Medical Education

The New England Eye Center/Department of Ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center offers Grand Rounds every Thursday morning from 7:30 – 8:30 am  in the Biewend 10 auditorium.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and Tufts Medical Center, New England Eye Center. TUSM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Tufts University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

Note: each session is designated for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  

Ophthalmology Residency Program

The New England Eye Center Residency in Ophthalmology offers a three-year program that blends clinical training, academic activities and research opportunities. There are four residents in each of the three years of the program.

The foundations of the didactic program of the ophthalmology residency are weekly educational conferences in each of the subspecialties, and Grand Rounds. In addition, there are lectures by visiting professors, research seminars, rounds on non-ophthalmologic topics in medicine, evening conferences and journal club meetings.
