Joint Replacement Research

Our research team explores the effectiveness of new surgical techniques, joint implants and total joint replacement systems. Many of the team’s investigations stem from patients’ questions about total joint surgery and implants and how they affect outcomes after surgery.

Along with our joint registry, which tracks outcomes of people who have had joint replacements at our program, we have been able to improve the procedures we do today and our knowledge – which we always pass along to you, your family and caregivers.

We are very active in running clinical trials, mostly in part with the makers of joint implants and implant systems. Our work already is paying dividends and can benefit you or a family member in the future if either of you need hip or knee replacement or revision.
