Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Amputee Care at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston provides long-term care for people with amputations. Our physiatrists work closely with our orthotists and prosthetists, you, your family and caregivers on issues related to mobility, self-care, prosthetics and other essential needs. Additionally, we collaborate with the other specialists on your care team, which may include orthopaedists, neurologists or neurosurgeons, as well as clinicians such as prosthetists, physical therapists or occupational therapists.

In every case, our objectives are to optimize your functional independence and help you reach your goals for leading an independent and fulfilling life through improved mobility, balance, comfort and confidence.
