At the Spine Clinic at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, our goal is to provide our patients with alternatives to back surgery, such as bracing, exercise, physical therapy or medication or when appropriate, minimally invasive procedures, such as precisely guided injection therapy. We develop comprehensive treatment plans to manage pain and improve function so patients can resume the everyday activities they love, get a better night’s sleep, or return to work, school, a hobby or a favorite sport.
If surgery is needed, we work closely with our Neurosurgery, Pain Management and Orthopedics colleagues in the Tufts MC Spine Center to ensure that you receive the best possible treatment for your unique spine condition.
Our physicians are consulted by specialists throughout Greater Boston for second opinions, and are frequently is sought by patients who have had “failed back surgeries.”

The physiatrists in the Interventional Spine Care Program at Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston, MA offer highly specialized and minimally invasive nonsurgical treatments for patients suffering from neck pain, headaches, lower back pain, sciatica and radiating neck pain to the arms.
Some procedures are performed as a diagnostic step and others as therapeutic interventions. At times, large and small joint injections can help reduce symptoms of degenerative conditions or sports injuries and speed up recover, rehabilitation and improvement in function.
