Primary Care Division Administrator

The Division Administrator is a significant position at Tufts Medical Center as he/she manages and develops Primary Care Boston, and the Pratt Diagnostic Center—representing more than 35,000 patients per year, over 70 staff members, 60 clinicians, 4 supervisors, and 1 practice manager. The Division Administrator is the key leader in driving Primary Care growth at Tufts; maintaining high quality of care in all practices; creating an environment where primary care is feeding the specialties at Tufts MC; and running a Division that strives to foster quality, excellence, and a commitment to the values of health care at Tufts Medical Center.

The Division Administrator, along with the MD Division Chief, is the face of primary care at Tufts MC and will cultivate and maintain relationships with patients, clinicians, staff, and other high level administrators. The qualities of the ideal candidate include hard work, focus, and the ability to delegate, and to inspire. A sense of humor and passion for health care are essential.

Primary Care Ambulatory Supervisor

Provides a positive, rewarding and service oriented work environment which supports high quality patient centered care, an exceedingly competent and engaged staff, and the achievement of process improvement goals and objectives. 

Works proactively and autonomously and understands the division’s shifting priorities.

Monitors and implements performance improvement initiatives. Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, team leadership, priority setting, organizational and work competency skills.

Manages/guides support staff on the following: ensuring orientation, training and competencies, assigning work, ensuring productivity, processing Kronos and other personnel transactions, helps coach, and counsel staff, and completes annual performance evaluation in tandem with the practice manager. Ensures staff have all necessary resources, including supplies, training, procedures, etc. be successful in their role.

Works closely with the practice manager, determines staff needs, and helps to makes hiring decisions. Brings lessons learned from the clinics day to day operations to practice manager.
