General Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Program

Expert attention to mental health

At Tufts Medical Center in downtown Boston, your mental health matters to us. The highly trained physicians and other clinicians in our General Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy program provide care for adults with a variety of cognitive, emotional and behavioral issues, including major depression, bipolar disorder, chronic mood and anxiety disorders, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and more. We also offer evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in medical and surgical inpatients within Tufts Medical Center.

The full range of medical and psychiatric services

Whether you require medical treatment, therapy or a combination of both, our skilled physicians and other clinicians will help determine the treatment that’s right for you. We offer comprehensive medical, psychiatric and neuropsychiatric evaluation and testing, consultation and treatment on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Depending on your individual needs, we may recommend individual or group psychotherapy, medication or other effective therapeutic options. The Department has several specialized programs for specific mental health concerns, such as our Mood Disorders Clinic for patients with bipolar disorder. We take a team approach, working with our colleagues and your referring physician to provide you with the best possible care.
