Our Trauma Center at Tufts MC is part of a small, elite group that has earned the highest possible rating by the American College of Surgeons. As a Level I Trauma Center, we play a key role in training young doctors, nurses and emergency medical workers to save the lives of the seriously injured and ill. Our highly-skilled trauma specialists offer the latest, cutting-edge courses and training designed to simulate as closely as possible real life medical situations. Our surgeons are at the top of their fields, with superior ratings in resuscitation, evaluation, emergency surgical intervention and medical treatment.
In a field where every second is crucial, we provide a carefully calibrated training program, one designed to simulate the pressures and demands of trauma care. Our trauma simulation center is akin to a flight simulator, with young doctors, nurses and other specialists given the opportunity to develop and refine their trauma treatment skills on life-like mannequins. As part of our training regimen, we provide specialized courses for doctors, nurses and EMS workers, including Advanced Trauma Life Support, designed by the American College of Surgeons, and the Trauma Nursing Core Course.
