Clinical Neuropsychology

Clinical neuropsychologists specialize in analyzing the impact of brain injuries and birth defects on various aspects of one's life. From behavior and speech to focus and personality, they work to assess your brain and can recommend treatment for diagnoses like concussions, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, brain cancer, stroke, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. With their expertise, they can conduct assessments, provide diagnoses and recommend treatment options.

Your brain is your body's computer

Think of your brain as the main computer that controls your body. Changes to your learning and functioning, speech, memory, mood, ability to focus, comprehension, concentration and problem-solving ability may signal that hardwiring in your brain is damaged or injured.

Our clinical neuropsychologists study how different areas of your brain are programmed to function and figure out what needs to be repaired or treated. With their expertise, they can conduct assessments, provide diagnoses and recommend treatment options to help manage your condition.

Testing

We'll perform a neuropsychological evaluation, a comprehensive 360-take on how well your brain and mind work, measuring your cognitive, verbal, social, memory and motor skills. Your testing will likely include interviews with your medical providers, family members and written and online tests.

We'll also look for strengths and weaknesses and work with your doctor and other caregivers to diagnose your condition and recommend treatments to improve your ability to function.

Treatments

We work with referring primary care physicians and doctors in pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, cardiology, nephrology, metabolism and genetics and general medicine to understand better the conditions and the effect of some treatments on the brain.

There can be medications to manage symptoms, and modification of school, work or life environments to optimize function.
