Tufts MC is one of the area's few cancer centers to offer hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for patients whose cancer has spread to the lining of the abdomen. During the HIPEC procedure, surgeons remove all visible tumors and then circulate heated chemotherapy agents throughout the abdominal cavity. HIPEC has been shown to improve both overall survival rates and quality of life.
Our patients also have access to novel therapies through participation in Tufts MC and national clinical trials.
