Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

For Patients and Families

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism offers complete diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.

Staff physicians work closely with referring primary care physicians as well as other subspecialty services including General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Nutrition and Podiatry to coordinate the diagnosis and management of complex endocrine diseases.

Appointments and Locations

The Division accepts patients referred by physicians, as well as individuals who seek help directly. We have offices located in Boston, Quincy, Norfolk and Lowell.

Practice Information

Outpatient Endocrine Clinics

Eight half-day clinical sessions (including the sessions in the Weight and Wellness Center) are conducted each week focusing on specific areas within Endocrinology. Inpatient Consultation Service

The Division also provides inpatient services for the diagnosis and management of all endocrine disorders. The Inpatient Service is composed of the General Endocrine Consultation Service and the Diabetes Management Service. 

The Diabetes Management Service provides consultative and continuing management care for inpatients with diabetes. It deals primarily with consultations from the surgical services (cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant, SICU) for perioperative management of patients with diabetes mellitus, and gestational diabetes mellitus.
