Hematology/Oncology Research

Overview

The goal of the Division of Hematology/Oncology basic research is to apply state-of-the-art methods to develop and refine new therapies for malignant and benign disorders while training future leaders within a comprehensive dual certification Fellowship Program for successful careers in academic Oncology and Hematology. With these methods, our researchers translate basic research findings into new clinical strategies for diagnosis and therapy.

We can continue the strong research in our Division because we have relationships with outstanding basic and clinical research programs that are supported predominately by research grants from the National Institutes of Health.

In addition, we are very fortunate to have access and the ability to collaborate with a variety of other prominent researchers and research institutes on the Tufts campuses. This includes our pre-clinical/laboratory colleagues at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University, and the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University (TCSVM). These relationships allow us to work on a number of unique research programs, including those listed below:
