HIV/AIDS Clinic

Comprehensive care for patients infected with HIV/AIDS

In the HIV/AIDS Clinic at Tufts Medical Center, you will find a team of highly skilled practitioners who provide the most advanced care available with sincere sensitivity and deep respect. We offer primary care and consults in a friendly, highly supportive and confidential environment, with access to cutting-edge treatments.

HIV is a disease that requires a lifetime of care, and we will be with you every step of the way providing for all of your HIV-related medical needs and more in a clinic that is also a tight-knit community.

Many of our patients have been coming here for years. Our specially trained team is committed to ensuring that you never feel that you are just number. We have set up the center to make each visit go more smoothly with phlebotomy (blood drawing) and vaccinations on site. We even offer free acupuncture to our regular clients to manage side effects and symptoms.

A social worker is available to help you with the emotional side of the disease as well as particular issues such as insurance and housing. We also have nutrition counseling and can arrange for dental or psychiatric care.

Providing all of the medical services you need

There have been significant advances in the treatments available to patients with HIV. We offer all of them here.

Your needs will vary depending on how advanced your disease is and whether you have related complications. We will work with you to determine what care you need, when and how often. We have the resources needed to manage even the most complex cases. As part of Tufts Medical Center, we are able to provide you with the resources of a full-service major academic medical center.

Generally we can see patients within two weeks, but we can also provide urgent visits for those who need to be seen more quickly.

An inviting place for young adults with HIV

Moving from pediatric to adult care can be difficult. At Tufts Medical Center’s HIV Clinic, you won’t feel out of place or lost. We understand the special needs and concerns of young adults and will work with you as you make this significant transition.

We will work with the doctors and nurses you have been seeing to transfer your medical records and set up an ongoing care plan.

HIV affects your health in many different ways. This is why we bring together specialists who can consult with each other and ensure that you are getting all of the services you need at the right time. This includes:
