Fellows receive training in statistics, epidemiology, study design, grant writing, ethics, and a variety of electives at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University leading to a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences.
Fellows also perform thesis work to develop mastery of a field, and mentored research with a team of domain experts, process experts, and statisticians. World-renowned experts in the fields of chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease in kidney disease, guideline development and implementation, dialysis, kidney transplantation, polycystic kidney disease, hypertension, acute kidney injury, glomerulonephritis, and kidney stones are strengths of our program. Collaborators from around the world expand the opportunities to participate in exciting and cutting-edge work.
Clinical year – 1st year
- Ten months of inpatient rotations
- Two months on the Float/Education block
- Two ½-day nephrology continuity clinics per week
- A monthly home dialysis continuity clinic
Research years – 2nd and 3rd years
- Classwork at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences for Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences
- One ½-day nephrology continuity clinics per week
- A yearlong continuity experience in a chronic outpatient hemodialysis
