Dr. Werner is originally from New Jersey. She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society as one of the top students in her class. She completed her residency at the Tufts New England Eye Center, followed by a clinical fellowship in Glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Werner’s clinical interests include adult and adolescent glaucoma care, the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and cataract care. Her areas of research interest include minimally invasive surgical techniques, imaging of the optic nerve head and applications of OCT angiography in glaucoma. She also has a special interest in graduate ophthalmology education and surgical teaching.
