Dr. Farah Moustafa is a board-certified dermatologist with interest in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She grew up in South Carolina and attended the College of Charleston. She graduated summa cum laude, with degrees in Biology and Political Science. She attended Wake Forest School of Medicine where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received numerous awards for her academic achievements. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School) and her dermatology residency at Brown University. She served as chief resident for the dermatology residency program during her final year. Following her residency, she completed a prestigious one-year fellowship in Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology at SkinCare Physicians. Dr. Moustafa has published numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications on topics including laser scar treatment, tattoo removal, photorejuvenation, and hair loss therapies.
Dr. Moustafa’s interests include advanced injection techniques of neuromodulators (e.g. Botox and Dysport) for facial lines and wrinkles as well as fillers (e.g. Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Belotero, Sculptra, and Radiesse) for facial and body rejuvenation. She is an expert at using lasers and other energy-based devices for the treatment of rosacea, vascular birthmarks, photodamaged/aging skin, acne scarring, melasma, tattoo removal, and non-invasive skin tightening. Other procedural interests include PRP for hair loss, Cellfina for cellulite treatment, and CoolSculpting for body contouring. She has received additional training in tumescent liposuction for fat removal and body contouring.
Dr. Moustafa also has an interest in global health and is a Co-founder of Dermatology Relief, a teledermatology application that connects medical providers working in refugee and resource poor settings around the world to US-based dermatologists to aid in the diagnosis and management of dermatologic conditions.
