Following graduation from medical school in India, I was a resident doctor in India. I continued in the position of a resident doctor in Trinidad, West Indies. I developed an interest in Public health and was privileged to undergo the training at the University of Iowa in the US. This academic background helped me to secure a position at the Internal Medicine Residency program in Mount Vernon, New York. I received the outstanding intern award and also served as the chief resident. After the ABIM Certification, I worked in the field of Long Term Care in Philadelphia and delivered health care at the nursing homes and Albert Einstein Medical Center. In 2012, I moved to Massachusetts and have been delivering Primary Health Care .
JR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) coined the word Eucatastrophe. I ardently believe that Prevention is the only way going forward to halt catastrophic disease events, and that Primary Care is the crux of this effort at improving health outcomes and quality of life.
