The Jaffe laboratory is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which blood vessels become dysfunctional to lead to common cardiovascular conditions, including heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, in-stent restenosis, vein graft failure and heart failure. We are interested in understanding how traditional risk factors like aging, obesity, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, or new risk factors like novel cancer treatments, cause blood vessels to become diseased. We are also focused on understanding sex differences in how these cardiovascular diseases develop, in order to identify sex-specific precision medicine strategies.

MelroseWakefield Hospital has expanded our joint venture partnership with Shields Health to include state-of-the-art PET/CT imaging services, increasing access to advanced radiological care in our communities. PET/CT imaging services have changed location from Montvale Ave to our office at 888 Main St., Wakefield now provided by Shields Health.

PET/CT services will be provided on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 888 Main St., Wakefield.

This phase III trial compares the effects of olanzapine versus megestrol acetate in treating loss of appetite in patients with cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced). Olanzapine may stimulate and increase appetite. This study aims to find out if olanzapine is better than the usual approach (megestrol acetate) for stimulating appetite and preventing weight loss.

Mirvetuximab Soravtansine (MIRV) is an investigational antibody drug conjugate designed to selectively kill cancer cells. The antibody (protein) part of MIRV targets tumors by delivering a cell-killing drug to the tumor cells carrying a tumor-associated protein called folate receptor alpha (FRα). It is being developed as maintenance therapy for the treatment of subjects with recurrent platinum-sensitive, highgrade epithelial ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancers with high folate receptor-alpha expression.
