Tufts Medicine announced today that Perrie O'Tierney-Ginn, PhD, has been named the permanent Executive Director of the Mother Infant Research Institute (MIRI) at Tufts Medical Center. She had served as the Interim Executive Director of MIRI since September 2021.

Michael House, MD, has been recognized as an expert in the uterine cervix, has received an SMFM/ABOG Bridge Grant entitled “Novel tools for studying cervical function and dysfunction during pregnancy.”
MIRI PI Dr. Michael House and his team members received a COVID-19 Rapid Response SeeD Funding Grant. This new funding program is intended to fast track innovative research proposals that directly address the urgent needs of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Patrick Catalano, who has expertise in lifestyle interventions to reduce gestational weight gain among women with overweight or obesity, was an author in the paper “A telehealth lifestyle intervention to reduce excess gestational weight gain in pregnant women with overweight or obesity (GLOW): a randomised, parallel-group, controlled.”
