Our team of highly trained surgeons is experienced in all aspects of general surgery, including surgery for hernias, gallbladder disease and disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. We also have dedicated specialists in the management of both benign and malignant diseases. In many instances, you may be eligible for a minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedure that can decrease pain and speed healing.

Every patient is different. That’s why we have built a group of surgeons that can address your individual needs. We are skilled in general surgery to treat routine concerns such as bowel obstructions, appendicitis, cholangitis, hernias and infections. But our team also performs surgeries in a number of specialty fields including surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery and trauma/critical care services.
Within these specialties, we are proud to offer state-of-the-art services, including hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to remove difficult-to-treat abdominal tumors. The General Surgery Division’s Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Program is one of just a few Centers of Excellence in HIPEC in the United States. Our surgeons also help staff our Breast Health Center, the longest-standing multidisciplinary breast center in New England. Led by Roger Graham, MD, a “Best of Boston” surgeon, the staff of the General Surgery Division works together with oncologists, endocrinologists, nutritionists, psychiatrists and other experts to provide exceptional surgical care that puts patients first.
